Protech Stainless was engaged by GEA Process Engineering Australia to supply items for the Tiwest Expansion Project in 2009.
Tiwest is a major producer of Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂). In 2009 GEA Australia installed 2x Swirl Fluidizer Dryers in their Western Australia Plant in Kwinana, and contracted Protech to supply the Product and Exhaust Process Ducting. The dryers are the largest of their kind in the world. The operating temperature of some of the process stages required some ducting to be manufactured from 253 MA Stainless Steel, which can handle operating temperatures up to 1150°C. With this specialised material coming from offshore the build time was short, but we delivered on time, with GEA and Tiwest happy with the high standard of fabrication supplied.
